To ensure that the celebration is a successful and safe event, the following guidelines have been set by Principal, Dr. Mitzner, 8th Grade Assistant Principal, Tiffany Young and the 8th Grade Celebration Committee.
Eligibility: Only 8th grade students currently attending (KVA or in person) Tays Junior High may attend.
Permission Slip and Ticket Cost: To attend, the student and a parent or guardian must complete the online permission slip confirming you have read, understand, and agree to follow the guidelines. You will also need to pay the ticket cost of $20. No physical ticket will be issued. All forms and fees must be submitted and paid by Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
Students must bring their ID to enter the Celebration.
Party Information: The celebration will include a live DJ, dancing, photo stations, blackjack and bingo, courtyard games, prize drawings and snacks, and drinks. For students’ convenience, we will have a check-in room for purses, shoes, coat jackets, and other small items. Photos will be taken during the event and made available online or at the photo stations.
Drop Off: LIMOUSINES AND PARTY BUSES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS. DRESS CODE COMPLIANCE WILL BE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY UPON ENTERING THE BUILDING. Drop off at the FRONT of Tays JH.
Pick Up: Please start arriving to pick up your students promptly at 10:00p.m. at the BACK of Tays JH. Students will be dismissed in an orderly fashion. Parents will not be allowed to enter the building. Please be on time to pick up your student and stay In your vehicle.
Security: All students are expected to remain at the celebration until 10:00p.m. Anyone planning to leave prior to 10:00p.m. will need to provide a written note before the event to Ms. Young. Upon arrival for early pick up, parents will need to show an ID in order for their child to be released to them.
If a student has a question regarding specific clothing, or has an extenuating circumstance, please contact Ms. Young, 8th grade Assistant Principal, or her assistant, Ms. Beeson, prior to the night of the celebration.
Dress code: Semi-formal/dressy attire. No costumes.
Students who come dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to enter the celebration, and tickets will not be refunded. Students may want to bring a pair of socks or comfortable shoes to change into.
These guidelines will be strictly enforced.
